Dear Ari, just to let you know, that lost all of my last send while checking a Korean place name.
Understand may not be easy to fix up, but worth a warning.
Thankfully most of the email is still in my head.
Been reading a lot of your previous emails and stories.
Like your recipes a lot and some v adjustable to here.
But, listening a lot to your socio/polititical/ecomomic comment.
And while you live next door to the biggest apple producers in the world, wonder why your orchard products cost so high, and given you produce quite some yourself.
Maybe you should buy from Aussie, from places like Batlow, Stanthorpe and Tasmania, whc grow such great apples.
Your country battled at the cost of millions of lives in ferocious battle to maintain what looks like an Oligarchy and a struggling middle and lower paid class.
And to have the Starbucks comment made. Would like to meet him so I could pour a cup of coffee into his pants.
Know from family history that although a small force, Australian soldiers involved in some amazing battles in Korean War, esp in defense of Seoul, like the Battle of Kapyong , in battle with Canadians, US and NZ troops in the 1950's.
And millions of Koreans died in defense of where you now live, both as active soldiers but also civilian support eg like carrying things to the battlefield but had no armed support. The latter story is sort of forgotten
Could go on bit don' want to effect your site, too much.
So last is another question; do you know much about Australian music? And would you like to know a bit more? Could be trade as I would like to know more about Korean music and culture.
Hi, Christoffa! Thanks for your comment! I learned a lot from Australian places who grow great apples to Australian soldiersβ role in Korean War.
About the high fruit price you asked, there are many reasons and one of them, I heard, is a monopoly in fruit auction markets. It was recently reported that only a few big corporates are controlling fruit markets in my country.
I know singers like Sia and Gotye! Their songs were big hits in my country when I was a kid. If you give me some song or singer recommendations, Iβll give them a try :D
Just finishing a meal with baked Batlow apples and cinamon, after a mackeral stew.
Found a comment as I was trying to respond, that a single apple could cost USD15.
Absolutely crazy and criminal monopoly in play. Just bought about 12 apples for less in AUD.
May come back to bite them as people eat less apples. We have a federal watchdog called the ACCC ,which is not perfect, but can do big things about something like this. And last, happy to share some music from Australia (in my day sometimes called Oz, a bit of a play on the film).
First two artists are both First Nation people.
You will have to look up on Youtube as I can't send a link(lack of skill).
Gurrumul (Geoffrey) Yunnipingu is first and often sings in his first tongue Yolngnu. A beautiful high range melodic voice and many stories. Now passed. His Wiki piece will detail, but listen to his music first.. A wonderful legacy of sound.
Next is Le Kid Laroi, who is v young and now based in LA, and has songs with people like Machine Gun Kelly. So do look up. Could be The Kid..but have found if I leave this to check it will delete.
And interested in the two artists you will share? Cristoffa.
Itβs so sad how the rich get richer meanwhile everyone else in the world is struggling ! Itβs very worrisome the direction the whole world is heading towards! I would have never known just how bad inflation is all the across the world and I appreciate your time and effort to keep us informed! Thank you!
Hello Ari, wow this is crazy seeing the price comparison with here in canada I can't believe it fruit and vegetables shouldn't be so expensive π«. I'm grateful over here to have lot's choices and varieties for better price. Summer I grow my own vegetables and fruits plus since the pricing being going up on food making difficult for people the buy food I decided to have my own chickens to have fresh eggs everyday and raising rabbits for meat. The rich doesn't care how poor and average people struggle especially for food . It's so π sad
