The time leading up to elections sounds a whole lot more fun there, with the exception of the candidate you mentioned who is detaining people. I’m glad to hear that he doesn’t have much of a chance of winning a seat. I could see that being a popular tactic in some places here in the United States to gain favor.

Always love reading and hearing from you and hope you feel better super soon! <3 I never feel like I have much productive to add to the comments but wanted to make sure to say thank you today.

Oh! I almost forgot — you mentioned the Los Angeles Dodgers on the latest podcast and wanted to mention that at least where I am in California, we pronounce the Los as if you’re saying “lost” but just without the ‘t.’ English pronunciation is confusing, and I’m sure that regionally people probably say it differently, too. Just wanted to mention it in case it helps. Loved seeing Seungmin throwing out the first pitch during that game!

Thank you for covering the medical crisis. Another thing that I had no idea about and am thankful that you’ve shared. Enough rambling from me…hope you have a great weekend!

Hello Ari, and will have to say I like your titles a lot.

Was just tonight ending watching the first Star wars movie of 1977, that I did see in old school cinema back then at first release. Tonight on a big bed screen blanket and a mini projector.

And now have read yours.

Cool food and language comments as always.

And your comments about the coming election and current campaign blurb are poignant.

Especially with the song and dance routines, and that people actually sit down and watch them.

Trying to think of that here in OZ.

Not many of our politicians could do it, except maybe Peter Garret as front man of the Midnight Oils, a my gen band from the 80's on. And he did have a political career later.

Listen to the Oils. Still a cool band. A lot of environmental and First Nations messages then are still true now.

Thanks for your message. Cristoffa.

Hello Ari, just back from a big community funeral service for the father of a school friend, held at my old school. We both were at school together and so were our fathers also in 1946 and 47. Took my mum who is soon to be 92. All grew up in same suburb, though our dads didn't.

American Army had used the school as a forward base in WW2, and after leaving , quite a few rickety buildings left that we used still into 1960's, but helped a lot then. Current students would have no idea.

During the eulogy about a man who lived over 94 years, reminded of how much the world has changed and how much it hasn't.

Your titles are fine; have scanned a lot to check out to read. All seem pretty OK, and while quite catchy at times, no crossing the line or mistakes. You seem to stay with using proper terms and that will get you by.

Use of slang terms is always the more risky issue in English, but imagine the same in other languages.

Glad to know that you have read my replies, as I have both enjoyed reading your posts and then thinking a bit.

Yes, Midnight Oil are a truly great band.

Australian Bands and music a bit under recognised globally, I think.

And yes, very political, especially about environment and First Nations people (not sure how much you know of this). So their songs still very relevant. Lead singer, Peter Garrett, was

for a period of time a Labor Senator in our federal Parliament.

At a big family wedding about 12 years ago, got what I thought was a big compliment from my daughter, "Dad, you dance like Peter Garrett", until my son said, "Dad she is dissing you badly".

So glad that you have listened to and got Beds are Burning quite a bit. The term has a crisis bell ring; the house is burning down so badly that the beds are too. We could use the term about Gaza for example.

I saw The Oils play quite a lot, a long time ago. Very high energy on stage and in audience.

Youtube have all their stuff. So do look and listen as a lot of other good songs eg Blue Sky Mining, about asbestos mining in Western Australia. This is an unrecognized global concern issue 40+ years later still .

And sort of a bit aware of your own place and struggle for rights and dictatorship, and your comments about his.

Stay Cool and I look forward to your next post, Cristoffa.
