Good Morning Ari. Did read your update last night and almost completed a comment, to lose it all as I left screen. ? a way to save comments, to complete later.

Any how , our Aus coverage , ABC and SBS (have I told you about this national broadcaster and journalist production?) has improved a lot.

Thank you for your wonderful and varied stories about this complex drama and crisis. You have generated a strong empathic sense of "being there" for me.

And watching and listening to a LOT of Lee Lang since your introduction.

Good to see a food recipe again from you. Long term fan of Maangchi from her Youtube days..

It is getting a lot easier to source K food products here now and I have learned of a few crossover products so perhaps sphagettini (v thin sphagetti and comes in variety of forms here). I can buy somyeon nearby, but don't have a hot chilli.

And a hot chilli adventure from 1981 in Indonesia.

And only have 4 eggs left. We have been going through a constant egg supply crisis ( a bit like the Toilet Paper supply crisis in early Covid, though that was due largely to panic buying on a grand scale). Last year we had an Avian Bird Flu exposure and millions of fowls were destroyed to control (apparently necessary, a lot of friends are veterinarians and one into biosecurity and quarantine).

My local shopping centre has 3 major chainstores; all no eggs. Told I must be there at opening on the dot to have a chance.

Balloons to Betrayal-- another killer title.

And am I reading it wrong but a major sense of almost feudal privilege taken by Prez Yoon and Mrs Prez; sort of Joseon Time throwback.

And their disrespectful treatment of their PSS team. And not all that smart in my mind, as they are there for a very specific purpose, not as a political thug army or entertainment team , but to protect them eg the Blue House raid 1968, when 31 NK commandoes almost got President Park Chung-hee and 90 SK civilians died in crossfire, one group all on a bus it says, and the Burma Bombing 1983; 17 SK government officials died, including 4 Ministers and President Chun only survived as his car was caught in a traffic jam. Another NK raid.

So not there to pander to an ego maniac or two. Do you think his wife will ever face charges also?

Good that they sort of stood down in a sort of honourable way, but police weren't mucking about with 3000 mobilised. Will watch and read your superlative news reports. Do sleep and eat well as this unfolds.

How do I start to learn Korean one day? Currently am refreshing my French after a long period of disuse, but surprisingly a lot more retained than I thought. Movies with subtitles help and other stuff like your direction to Google Translate. A friend keen to get me to join her at Alliance Francaise.

So Stay V Cool.

Hi, Cristoffa! I hope the egg supply crisis is over soon so that you can enjoy more egg food. Similar crises happened here in the past too so I feel you.

About the NK raids you mentioned, I learned about them in history class at school, but I forgot most of it. It's refreshing to hear from you.

The president's wife is highly likely to be in jail with her husband. The list of her charges could be longer than her husband's.

About learning Korean, actually, I'm thinking of starting 1:1 audio call Korean lesson sooner or later. If I do, I'll let you know in the newsletter :D

Always thanks for your support and comment.

Thanks Ari. It may take a while for the egg supply to improve.

And have done a bit of a deep dive re chooks (the Aus fond name for chickens). More interesting than you may think. Sadly for farmers and I suppose chooks, 2 million or more were culled in 2024 from May to October, but on average there are 100 million alive each year here (on par with world norm of 4 chooks per person). Only 20 million are layers, though.

First domesticated about 6000 yrs ago in small region in SW China/Thailand/Myanmar area and spread to more of China, SE Asia and India and the ROW..

Things will improve, but I tend to shop at end of the day, so almost guaranteed that none left.

When I was young, although I live 10 min bus ride to CBD, very common for people to have backyard chook runs, also fruit trees (mangoes grow v well in Briz, but we do have a very large bat species that adore them, foraging noisily at night, and a dangerous byproduct is their watery poo that sort of melts the paint on your car back to metal, if you don't wash off quickly - Aus is a dangerous place to live).

More on chooks, ducks, geese and ostriches and emus for another story.

And maybe, Mr and Mrs Ex-Prez will be able to sing happy birthday to each other in gaol with a Choir of Correctional Service Officers, for a few seasons.

Hope, as Protester Ari, you are able to stand down for now, and worry less.

Hi Again Ari. Just keeping up with impeachment news. Looks like a long slog. Suspect that whatever happens, his own party will ditch him if it is slow, as he like a serious “boat anchor” for them

Our local broadcasters a bit quiet again , but did find Seoul based Arirang News on Youtube and their own site; till I realised in the small print that it is your government sponsored world broadcaster, so maybe sanatiised and controlled, or spun.

And in the process learnt a little of Korean personal name meanings.A sort of interest of mine across all language. So your name in their title ! And looked up to find lovely beautiful meanings, including Jasmine. My mother and grandmothers fav plant for flower, scent and all around plantiness !

Also, good to de-stress with music, and other things, like walking and looking at the view and taking in the scene.

Other K Star(and just only my elder) I am listening to is Han Young-ae. So cool, and smoky rich voice.

If you like, will send you a play list of my likes. Includes v nice Quebecois Sistas (hope OK) with extremely cool jazz.

Stay Cool.
