For the second sentence, you did really well but it would be more natural if you change the word order and add particles. So 어제 (우리) 아빠가 정원에서 장미꽃을 땄어요 would be great.

1. We often skip 우리 when speaking 'my father.' Even if I say just 아빠, people know I'm talking about my father (though it can depend on contexts)

2. When you're talking about actions (picking a flower), use 에서 for location particle. If you're talking about status, use 에 for location particle.

Example)

내일 학교에서 보자 See you at school tomorrow.

학교에 사람이 많아요 There are many people at school.
